Rays sign Sally League affiliate agreement
with Bolwing Green

ST. PETERSBURG - The Columbus Catfish have
found a new pond.
According to the official website of the
Sally League team, they are selling team gear beacuse, "This
is the last season you'll be able to get [it] before the
team is gone forever."
In addition, the Rays extended their affiliate
agreement with Bowling Green Pro Baseball that will put
the South Atlantic team in a new state of the art building
and keep them there until 2010.
The yet unnamed team will open its 2009
season on Friday, April 17 following their move from Columbus,
GA.
Bowling Green Pro Baseball is conducting
a name
the team contest that has already received over
1,100 entries that has been whittled down to seven possibilities.
The Kentucky based franchise has also released
its new
schedule.
"We are very pleased to extend our
partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays, an exciting young team
that coincides with our exciting new beginning in Bowling
Green," said DSF Sports President Rick Brenner. "We
look forward to competing for the South Atlantic League
championship as a Tampa Bay affiliate and having their young
players represent us proudlyin the community."
