Threshers set single game attendance
mark

Clearwater, Fla. — The Clearwater Threshers set a single
game attendance record of 9,090 tonight, Thursday, July
3, at Bright House Field while defeating the Lakeland Flying
Tigers in dramatic fashion.
The Threshers won 4-3, scoring the game-winning
run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The crowd surpassed the previous record
of 8,906 set on July 3, 2007 with the help of a 6,000 advance
ticket sale.
Through 43 games this season, Clearwater
has notched an attendance of 110,358 and an average of 2,567.
A spring training record of 10,178 was
set on Saturday, March 15, 2008 versus the Minnesota Twins.
Bright House Field opened on February 27,
2004. The facility hosts the Philadelphia Phillies Spring
Training and Clearwater Threshers home games. There are
7,200 fixed seats with additional 1,500 grass berm seating.
This is the fifth season the Threshers
have represented the Phillies Advanced-A affiliate. The
Clearwater Phillies represented Philadelphia in the previous
19 seasons (1985-2003). The Phillies have been holding their
Spring Training camp in Clearwater since 1947.
