TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired a conditional draft pick at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft from the Nashville Predators in exchange for center Nick Tarnasky, executive vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton announced today.

Tarnasky, a 6-foot-2, 224-pound native of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, was injured during Tampa Bay’s training camp and did not play in the exhibition season. The 23-year-old has played in 169 career games, all with Tampa Bay. He has amassed 11 goals and 20 points in three seasons with the Lightning.
